All of the hard work…all of the squats, push presses, and power cleans. It’s been eight weeks — are you ready to retest your strength and power? This is going to be an exciting week; on Monday, we will retest your 1RM front squat, on Wednesday, it will be your 1RM push press, and we will wrap it up on Friday with a retest of your 1RM power clean. Get your mind ready, because your body is! Get after, folks…here’s where all of that consistency pays off!
Have you met Aaron yet? Aaron is one of our hardest working athletes; he’s been consistent, shows up with a great attitude every workout, and is just a fun guy to be around. He has made so much progress during his time with us…and he’s got a killer row (yeah, your 500m time is faster than mine!). Aaron is a 6:30 pm regular — if you haven’t gone to that class, switch it up one week, and meet Aaron. Keep up the amazing work, brother!

Chris joined the Big Horn CrossFit family on July 12, 2013. From the first day, it was quite clear that Chris enjoyed helping and interacting with others. It’s funny, because I can’t quite remember if I approached him, or if he approached me about coaching. But, I suppose that really doesn’t matter, because we both wanted the same thing.
Chris has been a welcome addition to Big Horn CrossFit, not only as a coach, but as a member first. It was easy to read the passion in his eyes, and the excitement that he displayed when assisting others. After our conversation about him one day being a Big Horn CrossFit coach, Chris signed up for his CrossFit Level I Certification. It’s been a long but worthwhile journey for Chris…he’s put in the hours, he’s put in the hard work. He has plenty of “sweat equity” built up, he’s an excellent asset to our team, and he shares our vision.
Welcome to the Big Horn CrossFit coaching team, Chris — we are PROUD of you! Now, get on the floor and start coaching up our awesome community!
The 2014 CrossFit Games Open starts tomorrow…let the new season begin! Remember, the Workout of the Day every Friday, for the duration of the Open, will be the Open workout. We will also be holding the same workout every Saturday morning at the 9:00 am class…judging will be provided for those who have registered to compete. And if you cannot make it on Saturday, please be sure to tell a coach…we are going to do our best to accommodate all of you. For instance, this Friday at noon, we will be judging Michelle and Kari for the first Open workout. Come on out if you can!

“Strength is commended and encouraged. Our bodies are celebrated for what they can do and not what they look like. We don’t have mirrors to analyze and critique aesthetics, and how I’m perceived is the furthest thing from my mind when I walk in the gym door.” – Katie Levy
