I have the privilege of writing this year’s Mother’s Day message and I feel honored. As many of you may or may not know I am 5 months pregnant with my second child. Being a mother is one of the hardest and most rewarding things I have ever done. It challenges me every day physically, emotionally and mentally. This is probably true for any parent with children at every age because we want what is best for them so therefore we strive to give the best of ourselves.

How do you strive to give the best version of you?

Even when you are tired of giving? Giving of your time, your energy…when you think you can’t possibly GIVE anymore?

So this Mother’s Day I say to all the Mothers out there…give something to yourself. For me, it’s the gym. It’s CrossFit. That is my ME time. For that one hour I am not a Mother, not a Meteorologist, not a Wife…I am simply Kari. The Kari that will lift that weight, that will complete Fran rx’d, that will conquer and take names.

That is what makes me a better version of myself. So that I can walk away from my hour of me time and give my very best to my children, and my job and my husband.

So give yourself something this Mother’s Day…give yourself…you.
