I began working out at a CrossFit gym in September 2011. I had just moved to a new city and started graduate school in Washington, D.C., but I was missing out on the athletic aspect of my life. I have played on sports teams (soccer, tennis, event-ball!) since I was little, and I was on a club level ultimate frisbee team at the University of Georgia. After I graduated and moved away, I felt like my life was missing something. Thankfully, my apartment, while having a great view of the Pentagon, also looked directly into a CrossFit gym. One day, I walked over to see what it was all about, and from then on, I was hooked.
I may have initially joined CrossFit for the physical aspects, but I stayed for the community. When I moved to the Denver area in June 2014, I knew I needed to find a gym with an awesome community. After trying out a few boxes (CrossFit speak for a gym), I found exactly what I was looking for at BHCF. Now, I get to have a new and fun challenge every time I show up to workout and amazing people to workout with and coach. Not to mention, I met my fiancé at BHCF, so it’s an extra special place for me.
